WHAT A YEAR!!!!!
Happy New Years! 2018 was definitely a year for the books. We totaled 7 new sisters and 2 new gents! We met some awesome Alumni and had fun bringing in the new girls. We even held our first Christmas Dance, Jolly Jam! We had many ups and downs, but in the end we grew as a sisterhood and learned in the process. 2019 will be a busy year, but we are hoping for an amazing one!
To kick off the new year, let's get to know one of our current members of Sigma Beta Sigma!
Hi! My name is Ashley Marchman (e.n.c.h.a.n.t.i.n.g. EMERALD #4Y5) and I’m a Junior Psychology Major at Young Harris. I’m currently the Chaplain of ΣΒΣ and I have been a member since Fall 2016. I joined Susans because it was a way for me to have my place on campus. God led me to this organization and all of the people in it because He knew I needed them. I know this was a God thing because I have made lasting relationships with people I definitely wouldn’t have met otherwise. A special thing that I love about Susans is our connection with our alumni. If I wear a shirt anywhere with the letters ΣΒΣ, I will most likely meet a previous member of our organization. It immediately gives me a conversation piece and a great connection with other women that is so unique to my Young Harris experience. I love all of our on-campus quirks and traditions as a local sorority, but you won’t find the bond that we have with alumni in any other organization or on any other campus. It’s truly priceless!
As many know, LoveHimLoveThem is our Philanthropy this year. If you're not sure what that is, LoveHimLoveThem is a Haitian Orphan Choir that many of us have grown close to as they have come to Young Harris and performed for us the past two years. They are a group of amazing kids that will change your heart the second you see them. I'm attaching a link to their website so you can get to know them more, and if you feel like it you can even donate to them!
