Boo Bash, New Sisters and Boys, OH MY!
It's been a busy time for the current sisters at school. We've been busy with midterms, Thanksgiving, putting through 10 new members (5 girls and 5 boys) and we're still busy with preparing for finals.
In October, we put on our annual Boo Bash with Alpha Omega and we had a great turn out! We made $2400 total and we split that with AO. The night before Boo Bash, we finished putting through the girls. They showed us up and knew our history well.
Our new girls are:
Khilah Johnson
Tabitha Brown
Deanna Greene
Oshjiah Cancer and
Rebecca McGehee
Our new boys were put through 2 weeks later and they are:
James Hood
Alex Johnson
Tyler Staten
Tyler Kniess and
Zak Sutton
A few weeks ago, we hosted a philanthropy night at Brother's to raise money for The United Methodist Children's Home. We got $75 to take to them for whatever they would need to spend.
We partnered with Rotaract and AO for Operation Christmas Child. We had a lot of donations including toys that couldn't be sent in the boxes (so those were donated to the UM Children's Home), toothbrushes, soaps, and money. We raised $700 and were able to bring Christmas to children all over the world. We're hoping to continue this for years to come and hope to get more donations, more money and more people involved.
We had our sisterhood retreat last weekend and that was so fun! We went to a cabin in Murphy, NC and we had a movie night in the living room while we played games. Some sisters did homework and some played Scrabble. Overall, we all had a good time and look forward to the next one with new faces and old.
We're blessed to have such great additions to our continuously growing family.
This past week we celebrated Thanksgiving and we're blessed to have such an expanded family in all of you. Thank you all so much for continuing to support, love and pray for us even though not all of us are still at YHC.
Happy Thanksgiving,
The Sisters of Sigma Beta Sigma
