It's Recruitment Week!!
Happy Recruitment Week!! Here at YHC, our current members are hard at work preparing for fall recruitment. We're all very excited to see how this week goes and to see how many new baby squirrels we get to welcome home on Saturday.
This week we'll be talking about our sisterhood, our new philanthropy (Untied Methodist Children's Home) and we'll be getting to know the young women on our campus who are interested in YHC's Greek life. This year our theme is "Life is a Circus" and we're hoping that we get to welcome new members into our own circus!
The United Methodist Children's Home of South Georgia Conference has its main location in Macon, GA and was founded in 1856, but was not founded by the South GA Conference. The Bibb County Widows and Orphans Home was founded 3 miles outside of Macon. The home was sold to the South GA Conference in 1872 for $1. Ever since it has been a home to orphaned children, or even children who need to be in foster care. Today there are 6 homes across South GA to provide the care and love that these children need. We are honored to be working with this group in order to bring love and excitement for these kids in a time that there may not be so much joy. We hope to visit homes in the upcoming school year and we are planning fundraisers and events to get more involved with this new philanthropy!
Keep up with these blog posts to see how we continue to grow and see what we're up to here at YHC!
